RMIT's Graduate School of Business and Law invites you to join us for an annual public lecture, that explores the interaction between law and society, in celebration of the legacy of politician and Chief Justice George Higinbotham (1826-1892). The guiding principal for this lecture series is to enhance our understanding of the law and the role that legal and political innovations can play in creating a more just society.

The Hon. Chris Maxwell AC, President of the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Victoria, will formally introduce The Hon. Marcia Neave AO, Former Justice of Appeal, Supreme Court of Victoria and Chair of the Royal Commission into Family Violence, who will present on the topic, 'Freedom from Family Violence: Does a Human Rights Framework Help?'
